1. Overview

Know Your Ethos is a platform for self-development, journaling, reflection, meditation, and values discovery, enhanced through AI-driven insights.

Our services include:

• Ethos creation and personalization
• Journaling and reflections
• AI-generated meditations, feedback, and affirmations
• Timeline-based life event logging
• Financial and subscription services via Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Plaid

2. Account Requirements

To use Know Your Ethos, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU)
• Provide accurate, complete information when creating an account
• Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes
• Post or share content that is offensive, threatening, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to access or interfere with systems or data not intended for you
• Use the platform to train other AI models or services

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. AI Content and Personal Insights

Know Your Ethos uses AI to provide personalized insights, reflections, meditations, and feedback.

• AI responses are for guidance and self-reflection only, not medical, financial, or legal advice.
• You are responsible for interpreting and acting upon AI suggestions.
• You retain ownership of the content you generate, but you grant us a license to use it to operate and improve our services.

5. Payments and Subscriptions

We offer free and paid features. When purchasing a subscription:

• You authorize us (via Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Plaid) to charge your selected payment method.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
• You may cancel anytime in your account settings.
• No refunds are provided for partial billing cycles unless required by law.

All payment data is handled securely through our third-party providers. We do not store your full payment information.

5A. Subscription Plans and Pricing

Know Your Ethos offers three subscription tiers:

New users are eligible for a 7-day free trial of any subscription plan. During the trial:

• You have full access to all features of your selected plan
• You will not be charged during the trial period
• Your subscription will automatically begin at the end of the trial unless canceled
• You may cancel at any time during the trial without charge

6. Data Privacy and Security

Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

6A. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

For enhanced security, certain users may be required to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access sensitive features. This applies specifically to users who link their financial accounts using third-party services such as Plaid.

MFA may include one-time passcodes (OTP), time-based authentication apps, or device-based biometric authentication. You agree to maintain the security of your MFA methods and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Know Your Ethos (including logos, branding, UI design, and proprietary content) is the property of Know Your Ethos or its licensors.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform or content
• Use our name or trademarks without written permission

Your journal entries, reflections, and Ethos content belong to you.

8. Disclaimers

Know Your Ethos is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no guarantees about:

• The accuracy or effectiveness of AI content
• Platform uptime or uninterrupted access
• Meeting any specific results in personal growth or well-being

We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Know Your Ethos and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:

• Your use of the services
• Any bugs, errors, or interruptions
• Unauthorized access to or use of your data

Some jurisdictions may not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You may stop using Know Your Ethos at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the service

Termination includes deletion of your account and associated data (see Privacy Policy).

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via email or in-app. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the new Terms.
